The following narrative emphasis the need for children to have a space to grow and learn positive, healthy behaviour: It’s about 8 year old child studying in Grade 3. “Dhanush was rude and unwilling to follow instructions. Midway through the sessions a breakthrough happened. In one session, I introduced the concept of geometric shapes using circles as an example but the children were given the option to use any geometric form they wished to. Dhanush painted bold squares. I appreciated his work, post which, Dhanush is willing to take instruction, paints and has fun doing it. He still continues to talk and do mischief in the class, but is not rude”. - Creative Arts Facilitator. For Dhanush, this appreciation was a beginning of his positive interaction with an adult and learning to form healthy interpersonal relationships.
