What You can do as a volunteer?

Dream A Dream's flexible volunteer program offers a great opportunity to get involved and to contribute towards the development of children from vulnerable backgrounds. You can choose to: 

• Participate in special events and programs such as educational visits to museums or the planetarium with children
• Partake in programs for children such as sports, arts, mentoring, IT skills training, Dream Fundays, Adventure programs and a host of other fun activities all aimed at building critical life skills among our children
• Participate in organization building through involvement in functional and strategic roles
• Raise funds through participation in events such as Marathons, Leadership Workshop, Annual Theatre Production

 Whatever your background, level of interest, passion & commitment, there will almost certainly be an opportunity for you to get involved with Dream A Dream! 

Individual Volunteering

The foundation of Dream A Dream has been laid by its volunteers. The organization was started by a group of community volunteers who wanted to harness the powerful energy of people, to bring about positive change. Over the years, Dream A Dream has invested a lot of time, effort and deployed global best practices in building our volunteer engagement model. For us, volunteers are an extension of our Dream Team and a very important element of the paradigm.

  From a volunteer's perspective, we believe in offering everyone a flexible, fun, high-impact and meaningful volunteering opportunity. With our partner NGOs, we would like to help build volunteer engagement practices by sharing our own experience, systems and process. 

On a larger canvas, Dream A Dream believes that volunteering is the means to engage the community and build a more humane and sensitive society around us. Strategically, volunteering enables societies to transform towards being more just, non-discriminatory, sensitive and inclusive.

Over the years, thousands of volunteers have contributed their time, skill and money to make this organization what it is today and have contributed tremendously towards our partner NGOs. In 2011, we have over 600 volunteers contributing over 8000 volunteer hours.

However, the journey is not over yet. We need more volunteers. We wish to inspire and engage an entire population of community volunteers that will bring about changes towards an inclusive world.

Employee Volunteering 

Dream A Dream has active partnerships with many companies in Bangalore, helping them to engage their employees in meaningful volunteering opportunities. 

Our corporate partners include WNS Services, Nike India, SSgA Investment Research Services, Microsoft GTCS amongst others.
