In
a country where 35 million children are orphans and 18 million are
street children (UNICEF, 2005); Dream A Dream noticed a critical
missing link of meeting the development needs of vulnerable children in
India, through Life Skills and fulfills it through a dual approach:
Empowering vulnerable children by developing life skills & Sensitizing the community through active volunteering.
On
one hand, we are committed to developing & delivering high-quality
life skills development programs to help children from vulnerable
backgrounds to successfully integrate with mainstream society. In
parallel, we are committed to create an efficient Volunteer Engagement
Model that helps build sensitive, caring and responsible citizens and
an inclusive society
At
Dream A Dream we also recognize that the development of inclusive
communities where these children can continue to develop is dependent
on changing attitudes amongst decision-makers and other members of
society with whom these children will interact as they become adults.
Thus there is a need to sensitize the community through so that the
skills, abilities and potential of children will be given the chance to
flourish.
